Appu India's first 4k animated film

This is the story of an elephant calf, born on a starlit night in the pristine Upavan forest in Southern India. But there is something different about this newborn - an extraordinary ability that Thathi, the yogic matriarch can sense. She calls him APPU.

Appu is full of life, and like any toddler, curious and eager to explore his world. But he is unaware of his capabilities and has little control over his strengths. That gets him into many misadventures, much to the annoyance of his mother, Kaveri. She, however, doesn't have much time with him as she soon succumbs to a poachers attack.

The calf is left without his mother to guide him as he grows. And he is a handful for his father. He is guided gently by the matriarch Thathi, who believes in his abilities and the special purpose of his life.

Nature plays its stroke when on a stormy night the poachers strike again, this time, capturing Appu’s father, Kannan. Fueled with a desperation to rescue him, Appu sets on a life changing journey that takes him through the hardest of challenges that tap his inner strength and he discovers his latent powers.

Appu meets Tiger, an abandoned dog with a super sense of smell. And a little girl Neena, an escapee from the poachers gang who knows their lair and the menacing forest through and through. They become Appu’s new friends who join him in his mission and have his back.

He gets to the poacher’s lair and can see their power lies in the guns they hold. A state of uncertainty connects him to Thathi’s spirit that guides him to tap into his inner strength. Appu wins the war against the poachers with the invincible power of his mind.

Appu’s mission, however, is not yet over. He has to gain back the dignity he lost in Upavan with his reckless mischief. He reunites the violent rival head Tara with her long lost daughter Titli, and restores peace in Upavan.
